Anyone may apply to active and open positions. Unsolicited resumes and cover letters are also accepted by the Municipality and retained for 6 months.

Employee Recruitment and Selection

All employee recruitment and selection is subject to the Municipality's Employee and Recruitment Policy

Applications for employment must include a resume and cover letter. A panel of at least two municipal representatives will carefully review each application to identify and compile a shortlist of candidates whose experience and qualifications meet the job requirements. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview. 

Interviews may take place in person or electronically. During the interview, candidates will be asked to provide up to three work-related references. Once the panel completes interviews and has identified leading candidates, references for those candidates will be contacted. 

Once the successful candidate has been selected, an offer of employment will be extended to the candidate in writing. All offers of employment are conditional upon the successful applicant providing an acceptable 3-year driver abstract and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check.

If the offer of employment is accepted, all unsuccessful interviewees shall be notified of the results of the competition.
